I am so blessed. I live in a safe country, have a roof over my head, food on the table and education for my children. Better still, I share it all with my wonderful, supportive family.

Unfortunately many women aren’t so lucky. And contrary to what you might imagine, many of them live right here in Geneva. That’s why I decided that giving back must be a foundational part of PauseYoga’s business from day one.

I’m starting small (because that’s what beginnings are often about) and contributing at least 5% of all earnings to a wonderful local charity called Au Coeur des Grottes.

Au Coeur des Grottes is a shelter “in the heart of the caves”, so named
after the neighbourhood it’s in, and it’s a life-saver. Literally.

The shelter welcomes women of all nationalities and their children who are
fleeing violence, human trafficking or abuse of any kind. These vulnerable
souls might stay for a day or for years depending on their situation, resources
and support network. Ultimately, the goal is to reintegrate them into the
community healthy, safe and strong.

The shelter welcomes clothing, furniture, equipment and toy donations for
children and their mums. So if you’ve got gently used items, please consider
dropping them off with the wonderful shelter volunteers. Whatever they can’t
use for their residents will be sold at their local charity shop, with all proceeds
going to their activities.
